About Me

My name is Dan Egan, aka, Charlotte's dad.  I currently live in Poughkeepsie, New York with my wife Amanda and our daughter Charlotte.  Charlotte will be 3 in May, and will also be a big sister in May.  My wife and I are expecting our second child two days before Charlotte's birthday.  Charlotte is going to have a little brother.  So does that mean in May I will have to start a new blog?  Maybe I will just change the name of this blog to Charlotte's and so and so's dad. 

I am currently in my second year of the IMC Master's program at Marist College, also located in Poughkeepsie, New York (For those of you viewing this in other countries.  My peeps in France, Germany, and Switzerland, you know who you are).  In the year and a half I have been enrolled in this program, I have learned so much valuable information that I can apply toward a career in Integrated Marketing Communication, and I feel it's one of the best decisions I made as a working professional.

Currently I work in Valhalla, New York.   For those of you who might not know where that is, to give you an idea geographically, it takes me an hour and a half by car to commute there every day.  Every single day, for the past 5 years.  It's a long commute.  So for all of you who complain about having to commute 20 minutes, or 45 minutes even, consider yourself fortunate and stop complaining.  Motorola outsources to my company, and I have been working on the Motorola project for the past 5 years, in verticals such:

• Manufacturing
• Distribution
• Retail
• Healthcare 
• Hospitality
• Federal and Local Government
• Police, Fire, EMS
• United States Military

Basically if you have a need to automate any of your process in these areas, such as Two Way Radio Communication, Inventory control, Asset management, Shipping/Receiving, Pack/Pick, etc... most likely I am the one you will be speaking to in regard to finding a solution that works for your specific project needs.

Upon completing this Master's Degree, I hope to switch gears and start a career in Marketing and Event Planning in the Sports and Entertainment industry.  Anyone reading this who might have some contacts in these fields, please let me know. 

I'm sure most of you are thinking, "wow, this guy sounds busy, does he ever have any fun"?  Funny you should ask.  When I do get some free time, I enjoy going to the movies, playing golf, drinking scotch, and writing screen plays.
